USA, TX: Gilmer Brewing Co. opens its doors as the sole brewery in Gilmer

Gilmer Brewing Co. has opened its doors as the sole brewery in Gilmer, EastTexasMatters.com reported on December 24.

The establishment located at 101 W. Tyler St. offers a limited menu and live entertainment in addition to five craft beers.

Matt Collier, who shares ownership with his wife, Jacqueline, and Drew Emory and his wife Ruthie, said his business partners have been making beer for 10 years.

Referring to opening the brewery, Collier said, “There was just an idea we have been kicking around for a while and thought, ‘Why not give it a shot?’”

Collier said the brewery has five craft beers on tap:

Pilsner
blonde
stout
two India pale ales

“We do have plans to bottle (them) in the future,” he said.

Gilmer Brewing also has a limited food menu of pizzas and appetizers, he said. It also features bands on Saturday nights.

At about 2,000 square feet, Gilmer Brewing has seating for about 60 people, he said.

Gilmer Brewing is open from 5 to 10 p.m. Fridays and 2 to 10 p.m. Saturdays.
