Australia: Barley plantings almost finished, farmers waiting for rains now

Australia’s barley plantings are almost finished and farmers are now waiting for rains, GrainCom analysts said in their latest newsletter on June 1.

Over the last 7 days, some rain finally came down in Western Australia, and a little bit in South Australia and Victoria, but New South Wales is still bone-dry, local sources report.

Market prices remain high, fuelled by domestic feed grain demand.
