EU: Spring malting barley prices slightly down this week

Spring malting barley prices came slightly down on the European market this week. On the current levels there is a bit more buying interest showing up, at least for crop 2018, GrainCom reported on October 27.

French winter malting barley was stable, even slightly up and is supported by stronger feed barley prices.

In crop 2017, the GrainCom analysts report a lot of malting barley shipments out of the UK. If the pace continues like this, the good quality malting barley might be gone soon and the market would then need to focus on Scandinavian barley, the experts said.
