Poland: Beer production up 14% in 2016
Beer production in Poland increased by 14 percent over the past ten years, with 42 million hectolitres produced in 2016, compared to 37 million hectolitres in 2007, according to the Central Statistical Office report.
At the same time, the lowest level of production was recorded in 2009, when it amounted to 36 million hectolitres.
Production of non-alcohol beer in 2016 stood at 602,000 hectolitres vs. 316,000 in 2012.
Last year, 157 million worth of beer was exported from Polish breweries. The biggest consumers of Polish beer are the Dutch, followed by the Germans and the British. Also in 2016, 44.6 million worth of beer was imported. Poland buys beer mostly from the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Germany.
