EU: New crop malting barley markets looking tight

New crop barley, specifically malting barley markets, look tight enough that European farmers and coops refuse to sell the unharvested barley, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier this month.

Not only they want to be sure of the harvest result, they also want and need a better award for their quality production, the analysts said.

Brewers, of course, think the other way around. Market activity has almost come to a standstill, market sources report.
