World: Crop conditions in Europe and Asia extremely variable during winter and spring
Crop conditions in Europe and Asia have been extremely variable during winter and spring, but frost damage has been negligible, and drought conditions in many countries (France, Germany, U.K., Ukraine, China) had been alleviated by rains, before damages became irreversible, H. M. Gauger GmbH said in their June report.
Argentina received too much rain once again, stopping the soybean harvest and delaying spring plantings.
Rains and cold temperatures in the U.S. cause fear for the winter wheat crop, delayed seeding, and which is worse, will necessitate replanting of corn in several key states of the U.S.
Canada also reports major planting delays and leaving large acres of last years crop unharvested in the fields. Some daring bullish opinions start to develop in the market, but we must not forget that the climate change with warmer and longer summers has helped to produce good crops in the past few years and may do so again, the H. M. Gauger analysts said.
