Belarus: Belarus maltster Belsolod expanding presence in Southeast Asia
The open joint stock company Belsolod is expanding its presence in the markets of Southeast Asia, BelTA learned from the company's director general Sergei Gorbatsevich.
The Belarusian president set a goal to diversify sales markets. We have met this goal. Today we are advancing into new markets such as Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, and Malaysia. We already made first shipments there. We signed a contract for 7,500 tonnes. This is about 10% of all our exports. It took us a year and a half to conclude a contract. This was a long period during which we worked 24/7, Sergei Gorbatsevich said.
Belsolod regularly exports malt to Russia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, and Moldova. Trial deliveries have been shipped to Brazil.
The open joint stock company Belsolod started out in 1989 as the Ivanovo malt plant. The company is part of the Belgospishcheprom concern. It produces barley malt. Currently, the production capacity stands at 130,000 tonnes per year.
