World: World malting barley supply and demand balance is seen as comfortable

East and West Europe have fairly even malting barley S/D balances, H. M.. Gauger GmbH reported earlier in March.

Canada and Argentina have small surpluses, have succeeded with early sales, but now seem uncompetitive for sales outside their continents, the analysts said.

Australia’s surplus of malting and FAQ barley would easily cover the demand of China, Japan, Vietnam and beyond.

By July French new crop winter and spring barley will be back on the market. The world S/D balance is comfortable, high malting premiums in world markets become shaky.
