Kenya Breweries Limited announced on July 21, 2004 that it has donated a total of Kshs. 1 million through its flagship brand ‘Tusker’ in support of the National Olympics team representing Kenya in the upcoming 2004 Olympics Games to be held in Athens Greece.

Making the presentation, EABL, Director of External Affairs Mrs. Norah Odwesso noted that the contribution was part of KBL’s support to Kenyan sports that it has been involved in for the past several years. “ In Kenya Breweries we have made it our course to support our larger community from where we draw our customers and consumers. It was only last month when we sponsored the Safari Sevens Rugby tournament through our flagship brand Tusker to the tune of Kshs. 10 million”.

Speaking on receiving the cheque from Tusker, the Kenya National Olympics Committee chairman, Mr. Kipchoge Keino thanked Kenya Breweries for the contribution saying it further boosted their financial requirements for the upcoming event. “ Tusker has through the years been an ardent supporter of our event and their 1.5 million shillings contribution today further reinforces their commitment.”

This year’s Olympics will run from the 13th to the 29th of August.
