China & Morocco: Tsingtao studying the possibility of entering the market of Morocco
Moroccos increasing consumption of alcoholic beverages has attracted the interest in Chinese investors. According to a report by Lemag.ma on December 10, Tsingtao Brewery Co. Ltd., Chinas second-largest brewery, has sent a commercial mission to Morocco to study the possibilities of entering the market in the nearest future.
The Chinese brewer wants to start selling its products in the country, but also make Morocco its launchpad for the other markets in Africa, it is reported.
According to IWSR (International Wine & Spirit Research), 118 million liters, it is the volume of alcohol consumed in Morocco in 2011.
Beer holds the first place with 68.3% (80.7 million litres) of total consumption, followed by wine accounting for 27.2% (32.1 million litres), and spirits for 4.5% with a volume of almost 5.3 million litres.
