Russia: Sun InBev ordered to Altay farmers 2 thousand tonnes of barley
The Omsk branch of company Sun InBev has concluded an agreement with the Altay farmers on pilot production of brewing barley, Kommersant published April 6. In 2007 the company expects to receive from fields of Altay territory not less than 2 thousand t qualitative grain, and in the long term due to all Siberian wedge completely to close needs Omsk pivovarni, components more than 45 thousand t barley.
Authorities of some the Altay areas hope to involve in manufacture of this production and the large-scale enterprises focused today in basic on wheat and forages. In Barnaul on the basis of the Altay Union of country (farmer) formations has passed meeting of experts of Omsk branch of company Sun InBev with heads of farms. Its theme became an opportunity of manufacture of brewing barley in Altay territory.
Manager Sun InBev on development of manufacture of barley to Russia George Loman has lead training on modern technologies of cultivation of grain. On results of meeting it has been concluded more than 15 contracts with the Altay farms on pilot production of barley and its(his) delivery for needs of an Omsk beer factory.
