Canada: Russell Breweries Inc doubles brewing capacity
Russell Breweries Inc. announced in its press release February 1 that new equipment has been ordered to effectively double the size of its brewery located in Strawberry Hills, Surrey, British Columbia. The order includes a bottling line and a canning line to be installed for a summer release of its products in the retail market.
“This is a significant expansion for the Company” said Andrew Harris, President and COO. “In addition to being on-tap at their favorite pub or restaurant, consumers will be able to enjoy Russell beer in the comfort of their own homes”.
The Company was acquired by current management in January 2004 and in three years has grown from a brewing capacity of 2000 to 8000hl per year in draught keg sales exclusively. This next expansion will increase the brewing capacity to 16000hl.
Russell Brewing Company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Russell Breweries Inc. It produces premium draught beer for fine pubs and eateries located in the greater Vancouver area, Whistler Village and Vancouver Island. Using all natural ingredients and traditional beer-making techniques, Russell beer is brewed for people who love beer.
