UK: 2006-07 UK exportable barley surplus
According to Defra's final UK production estimates, barley outputs have been revised up by 62Kt to 5.2Mt compared to the initial estimates released last October.
Despite those upwards adjustment, 2006/07 will see a squeeze in the UK barley balance with an exportable surplus around 0.39Mt (0.67Mt in '05/06). According to the official trade data until November, 0.14Mt of barley remain to be exported from December to June. However, trade sources set exports around 0.34Mt for July to December (inclusive) leaving, respectively, less than 0.06Mt to export to June.
