Ukraine: Barley crop up 26.4%, to 11.3 mln MT in 2006

Ukrainian 2006 winter/spring barley crop has grown to 11.34 mln MT (in terms of weight after additional processing), up 2.365 mn MT, Agro Perspectiva announced on January 17.

(+ 26.4%) against 2005, reported State Statistic Committee referring to 2006 grains harvesting data.

As to report, this year agrarians have harvested barley at 5,235.900 ha, up as of last year 4,350.400 ha.

As to State Statistic Committee, this year Ukrainian barley average yield is 21.7 metric centners per ha, up as of last year 20.6 metric centners per ha.

As to Agro Perspective earlier report, 2005 barley crop totaled 8.975 mn MT.
