Australia: Barley exports down 26.3% in 2024
In 2024, approximately 6.1 mln tonnes of barley were exported from Australia; dropping by -26.3% on 2023 figures, IndexBox reported.
In general, the nations barley exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 105%. Over the last ten years, the exports attained the maximum at 8.9 mln tonnes in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2024, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, barley exports dropped significantly to $1.6 bln (IndexBox estimates) in 2024. Overall, exports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2021 with an increase of 123% against the previous year. Over the last ten years, Australias barley exports reached the maximum at $2.3 bln in 2022; however, from 2023 to 2024, the exports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
