USA, NY: The Real McCoy Beer Co. getting ready to open its newest location in Albany

The Real McCoy Beer Co. is getting ready to open its newest location in Slip 12 in Albany. Owner Mike Bellini said he’s looking to open in mid-March as they’re waiting on permitting and licensing, NEWS10 ABC reported on February 4.

It was first announced in May 2022 that Real McCoy Beer Co. would be opening in Slip 12, a mixed-use residential and retail facility in the former Huck Finn’s Warehouse. Other commercial tenants include Motor Oil Coffee and Huck Finn Home.

Bellini said the new location took a few years to open due to renovations with both the entire building and the Real McCoy space. The new space is a full restaurant, said Bellini, with seating for about 150 and an outdoor space for the summer months.

“The overall project was by Redburn Development,” said Bellini. “I don’t think it would’ve been possible without them.”

The Real McCoy Beer Co. was established in 2015 and is a New York farm brewery, meaning its ingredients are sourced from within New York State. The brewery has other locations in Delmar and Ballston Spa.

The Slip 12 space will have a full bar with liquor, beer, wine, cider, mead, and seltzer, said Bellini. He’s keeping the food menu under wraps for now, but did say they have a wood-fired pizza oven from Naples. The kitchen is also built inside two shipping containers. Bellini’s also planning to serve brunch on Sundays.

Bellini said they’re in the process of moving their beer production equipment over to the Slip 12 space as he’s planning to expand the Delmar location over the summer. The Delmar brewery will remain open during renovations.

The Real McCoy Beer Co. in Slip 12 will be open Wednesday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from noon to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Slip 12 is located at 21 Erie Boulevard.
