The Czech Republic: Budejovicky Budvar brews record volume, increases beer export in 2024
Czech Republics Budejovicky Budvar brewed a record 1.927 mln hl of beer in 2024, up 3.3% versus 2023, Inside Beer reported on January 16.
This marks the second consecutive year of record production, reflecting the brewerys consistent growth both domestically and internationally.
Over 70% of Budvars production was exported to more than 70 countries, with export volumes increasing by 4%. The brewery strengthened its presence in key markets such as Germany, Poland, Slovakia, and the UK while expanding to new regions, including New Zealand and Cambodia. Domestically, sales grew by 1.7%, demonstrating strong demand even in markets where overall beer consumption is declining.
In addition to its core production, the brewery collaborated with local craft breweries in the Czech Republic, releasing four limited-edition beers in partnership with Zlata Krava, Dva Kohouti, Cobolis, and Lucky Bastard.
The brewerys economic contribution to the state remained substantial, with CZK550 mln (approximately USD24.8 mln) paid to the government in 2024.
