World: Barley crops looking good in Europe; Canada, Ukraine, Argentina expected to increase their plantings
Barley crops are looking quite good in Europe. It is expected that Canada, Ukraine and Argentina will increase their plantings to be able to satisfy the expected Chinese demand, H. M. Gauger GmbH reported earlier in April.
Markets will follow the big grains, depending, of course, on Chinas purchases, Middle East and Mediterranean demand plus new feed barley buyers (e.g. Thailand), who find barley prices attractive vs. corn and soymeal, the analyst said.
