France: Beer consumption up 4.2% in 2018
Frances beer consumption saw a 4.2% growth in 2018 thanks to favourable weather, higher sales in cafes, and an increase in demand for zero-alcohol beer, LUsine Nouvelle reported on May 21.
In 2017, consumption increased by 1.8%.
According to the French Brewers Association, its members reported a turnover of EUR3.9 bln in 2018, up 11.4% versus 2017.
The number of breweries in France increased to 1,600 from 1,100 in the previous year.
