Germany: Brewers announce price increase

German brewers have announced an increase in the beer prices due to the fact that barley prices have raised more than 50% since last autumn (from 100 to 150 euro/T delivered to Rouen).

Malsters are affirming that the price of barley constitutes only a very small part of beer price – around 5%. Instead, the price of manoeuvre is estimated at 23%, marketing at 15% and packaging at 14%.
