USA: Anheuser-Busch releases Bavarian-Style Wheat beer limited edition
A supple beer with hints of spiciness and fruity aromas that finishes clean on the palate, Anheuser-Busch is proud to announce its first offering from the new Michelob Specialty Seasonal line Michelob Bavarian-Style Wheat, Anheuser-Busch announced in its press release, May 10.
Steeped in old-world brewing tradition, Michelob Bavarian-Style Wheat is an all-malt wheat ale brewed with Cascade, imported Hallertau, two-row barley, wheat and carapils malts. Left unfiltered for a distinctive aroma, signature cloudy appearance and refreshing taste, Michelob Bavarian-Style Wheat has a hazy golden color. The beer is lightly hopped and fermented using a unique yeast strain to create characteristic banana and clove aromas.
Were very excited to bring beer drinkers such a unique and refreshing brew for enjoyment this summer, said Florian Kuplent, brewmaster, Anheuser-Busch, Inc. Just like Bavarian Hefeweizens, Michelob Bavarian-Style Wheat boasts fragrant notes of banana and clove, which provide for a perfectly balanced, highly drinkable wheat beer.
Michelob Bavarian-Style Wheat is best enjoyed when poured down the side of a tall, narrow glass until about ½ inch of beer is left in the bottle. Swirl the remaining beer to still up yeast left at the bottom and pour the rest into the glass, producing a nice, thick collar of foam. Bavarian-Style Wheat is an ideal beverage to enjoy on its own or when pairing with poultry and Asian cuisine. The fresh, light taste of Bavarian-Style Wheat highlights the delicacy of a simple chicken dish, and Asian fare perfectly harmonizes with the beers fruity flavor.
Michelob Bavarian-Style Wheat was a hit with beer enthusiasts when it was available in the Michelob Sampler Pack Collection last fall, so bringing it out for summertime enjoyment was an easy decision, said Eduardo Pereda, Michelob Family brand director at Anheuser-Busch, Inc. The new Michelob Specialty Seasonal line gives beer drinkers an additional opportunity to enjoy various beers in different seasons throughout the year.
Michelob Bavarian-Style Wheat is available today through late August nationwide and can be purchased at grocery stores and convenience stores in six-packs. Brewed at Anheuser-Buschs Cartersville, Ga., brewery, Michelob Bavarian-Style Wheat contains 5.2 percent alcohol by volume (ABV). It is the first offering of the new Michelob Seasonal Specialty line which includes Michelob Marzen, Michelob Porter and Michelob Pale Ale. All four seasonal offerings will again be available in the Michelob Sampler Pack Collection this fall.
