Brewing news USA, CT: Kent Falls Brewing Company expanding with a new location in Northford

As more Connecticut brewery close their doors, Kent Falls Brewing Company is bucking the trend by expanding with a new location in Northford, New Haven Register reported on August 21.

Kent Falls Brewing Company announced the news in a social media post on Wednesday along with a picture of its newest special batch brew to commemorate the new location, “Buddy Sprinkles Goes To Northford."

"Our Northford location will offer the familiar surroundings of a farmhouse turned brewery while creating a full taproom experience of enjoying full pours of our beer, Connecticut wine and cider as alternatives, food trucks, events and more," the brewery said in an Instagram post.
"Since signing our lease the Northford community has been incredibly welcoming and we are working hard to open our doors and officially welcome you all in for a beer."

The brewery will open at 418 Forest Road, which was the former home of Stewards of the Land Brewery. Stewards of the Land Brewery announced in March that it would not reopen after closing for the season in December.

As for the new brew, it will be available at the original Kent location as well as distribution partners throughout the state, the brewery announced. “Buddy Sprinkles Goes To Northford" is hopped with Galaxy hops from Australia, which gives it a "strong tropical, candy like character with some piney resinous notes to finish," according to the brewery.

An opening date has not been announced for the Northford location, but the brewery teased that further announcements would be made on its website and social media pertaining to the new location.

In addition to the closure of Stewards of the Land Brewery, Stubborn Beauty Brewing Co. in Middletown and Thimble Island Brewing Company in Branford and Old Saybrook were among the notable brewery closures in Connecticut so far this year. Earlier this month, New England Brewing Co. announced that it would take over the former Branford home of Thimble Island Brewing Company.
