Ukraine: Barley prices continue to grow

Number of operators participating in feed barley market was gradually boosting; as a result, domestic market prices were up, Agro Perspectiva reported May 3. Operators’ activity growth was to be explained mainly with just a technical factor, - that is, necessity to urgently fulfil earlier concluded contracts.

Barley lots offered by grain holders were not sufficient for exporters and therefore, in order to load ports ships, exporters had to raise purchase prices. Global market barley demand remained stable.

Feed barley exporters purchase prices were UAH940–1000 per MT, CPT port.

Feed barley US$ prices ranged within US$170–180 per MT (FOB)/US$160–170 per MT (CPT port).
