Belgium: InBev denies redundancy plan
Brewer InBev SA has denied that it is mulling a redundancy plan in Europe and North America as described in the Belgian press, Thomson Financial reported April 13.
A spokeswoman for the group told Thomson Financial News: "We deny the existence of a plan as Le Soir described."
"As part of normal HR (human resource) procedures, there are regular moments where employees in general are evaluated," she added.
Belgian daily Le Soir, citing unnamed sources, reported that the group is mulling 200 redundancies in Europe and North America, affecting employees over 50 and expatriates, whose contracts will not be renewed at expiry.
