World: Hop acreage expected to increase by 3% this year
During the recent meeting of the International Hop Growers Convention on May 18, the first official estimates on the development of world hop acreage were presented.
According to these, world acreage is expected to rise by approximately 1,500 ha, i.e. almost 3%, to 60,270 ha this year. Thus, the increase will be lower than in previous years.
An extension of acreage is reported in almost all hop growing countries.
Conclusive data with concrete numbers on single varieties will be available in a few weeks.
