USA, NC: Jolly Roger Brewing debuts in Moresville with just one flagship beer
A new company called Jolly Roger Brewing is open in Mooresville, with a limited selection: One flagship beer, the Charlotte Observer reported on October 5.
The company boasts of its status as Lake Normans smallest brewery. Its at 236 Raceway Drive, in a nondescript, one-story building. Jolly Roger is a pico brewery, meaning it uses a micro-sized brewing system to create small batches.
We are very excited about opening Jolly Roger Brew in Mooresville. Its a one-of-a-kind brewery in this region: We only serve growlers to go, and we only serve one beer: a tropical inspired double IPA, said Tony Philipp, the brewerys owner and captain. The Island Double IPA, the beer on tap, is a 7.3 percent alcohol-by-volume beer with strong citrus notes, the company said.
The decor is pirate-bavarian, Philipp said, and the slogan is Work like a captain, drink like a pirate.
