Brewing news Caribbean region: Regional Beer Companies given a Friday deadline for CWC

Five Caribbean companies, including Banks Holdings in Barbados, have until Friday to come up with a collective bid to be the official beer in the host venues for the ICC World Cup Cricket 2007, according to CBC News, December 20.

However, this will exclude venues in Jamaica and Antigua, which have already been secured by Red Stripe beer.

Chief Executive Officer of BHL, Richard Cozier, says Banks Holdings is part of a Caribbean Breweries Association initiative, to apply for sponsorship to operate in the other countries.

But he laments that, while the five breweries agree on the amount to tender, they are divided on how the money should be split.
