Romania: Ursus Breweries sales increased by 24% in the second quarter of the fiscal year
Ursus Breweries, the number two on the Romanian beer market, posted a 24% increase in its sales volume in the second quarter of the April 2006 - March 2007 fiscal year, after expanding the production capacity of its Buzau-based plant, Ziarul Financiar posted on November 13th.
The total sales increased in the first six months of this year stood by 13%, below the 17% pace seen by the market due to the limited production capacity.
"In the first quarter, the development of our business was restricted by our production capacity, but sales grew by 24% in the second quarter, informs SABMiller. It was the same production limitations, which determined a merely 5% increase in sales volume of SABMiller's local branch in the last fiscal year (April 2005 - March 2006).
Ursus Breweries completed a 30 million-dollar (25 million-euro) investment this year, made to expand the production capacity of its Buzau-based beer plant.
