Russia: Heineken-owned Volga Brewery reported an output of 810,000 hl in January-September 2006
The press-service of Nijegorodsk district has communicated that Heineken-owned Volga Brewery brewed 810,000 hl of beer during the first 9 months of 2006, The Russian Brewers Union released November 07. The amount of excise taxes which was directed to the districts budget overcame RUR143.3 million.
Heineken envisaged to inject 60 million in the modernization of the Volga brewery - of which 30 million in 2006 - and to invest 37-38 million in the reconstruction and the modernization of basic capacities, as well the construction of the administrative complex, a warehouse and a heating unit. As a result of the reconstruction, the brewery should be able in 2006 to lift its beer output from 0.8 million hl to 2.2 million hl.
