EU: HGCA says barley output will drop by 250,000 t to underperform 54.3 million t

EU barley production is expected at 54.3 million t, down 250,000 t on previous estimations, yet still 2% higher than the 2005 crop, the Home-Grown Cereals Authority (HGCA) recently released. EU exports are still projected to be higher than in 2005/06, at around 12-13 million t.
