USA: Anheuser-Busch to invest 1 billion rupees for beer plant JV in India

Anheuser-Busch is set to take up a 50 pct stake in Hyderabad-based Crown Breweries, investing about 1 billion rupees in the manufacturing and distributing venture, Life Style Extra cited October 04 the Economic Times.

The global brewer is likely to roll out its flagship Budweiser beer, along with another higher alcohol content beer from the plant located 60 km outside Hyderabad, sometime in the first half of 2007, the newspaper said.

A formal deal with Crown Breweries is expected after both parties clear ground-level formalities, the sources added. Crown Breweries will start operations early next year.
