Beer production in Czech Republic increased by 1.7% to 18.177 million hl in 2002 versus beer output of 2001, the Czech Union of Spirits Producers reported. The average Czech consumes about 160 liters of beer per year, according to the Czech Union of Breweries and Malthouses.
