Worldwide beer production increased for the 21st straight year in 2005, up 4.2 percent from 2004 to a total 1,602 million hl, Kirin Brewery Co. said August 24, Japan Economic Newswire Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge released August 24.

For the fourth year in a row, China retained its position as the biggest beer-producing country.
