Ukraine: Malt production 7% up year-on-year in June 2006

Ukrainian maltsters produced 29,000 tones of malt in June 2006, which indicates a drop of nearly 14% against the previous month. Nevertheless, production increased by 7% year-on-year, the Russian Brewers Union announced July 28.

In June, domestic malting plants were stocking 47,300 t of malt, 16% down against May 2006 levels. Ukraine malted 378,200 t of malt during the 2005/06 crop year against 304,600 t year-on-year (+24.16%).
