Brewing news India: Asia Pacific Breweries finalized the acquisition of 76% stake in Aurangabad Breweries

Asia Pacific Breweries (APB) has finalised a deal to acquire 76-percent in Aurangabad Breweries (AUBL). The company will get Rs62 crore for its 76-percent stake, India Business Insight Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdge released July 24.

APB has gained the right to use AUBL's plants in Maharashtra and Goa. The two breweries produce 2.6 lakh cases every month. The company has gained access to Arlem and Canon beer brands of AUBL.

APB can purchase 24-percent stake in AUBL by 2008. The company is planning to launch its Tiger and Anchor brand in the Indian market. APB will initially concentrate on the western market.
