Brewing news Russia: 'Ochakovo' to start operations in Tyumen

A new brewery and soft drinks plant of 'Ochakovo' Ltd. is to start operations in Tyumen within the next three weeks, RIC “FIS” communicated July 12.

The plant will supply its products to seven Russian regions, including the Omsk region. Owners of the new plant are set to compete with 'Sun Interbrew' holding and several minor breweries. The brewers perceive the arrival of the new player in different ways: some 'are fully prepared for new competition' while others are concerned with 'possible reduction of retail share'.
