World: Malt purchases reported during the latest months

International brewers have always purchased malt later than their European colleagues, analysts said in a market report.

During the past months it was reported that Japan bought malt from Canada, Thailand inquired or purchased from Australia and the EU, however, for shipment late 2006 / early 2007. Carlsberg also looked for offers for Southeast Asia, and the BBH is negotiating large quantities for the Baltic countries.
