Germany: Anheuser-Busch mulls acquisitions in Germany
US brewer Anheuser-Busch Cos. Inc is considering making acquisitions in Germany, its vice president Tony Ponturo told German daily Financial Times Deutschland, the newspaper posted June 14.
“We are looking at possible acquisitions in many regions - including Germany,” Ponturo was quoted as saying.
The newspaper said the brewer may also form a long-term distribution deal with German peer Bitburger, with which Anheuser-Busch is already cooperating for the duration of this summer's football World Cup in Germany.
Ponturo said: “We have built a good dialogue with Bitburger. Where this will lead to, is not yet clear.”
