Ukraine: Ministry proposes to reduce price for spirit/alcohol drinks production licenses

The Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy proposes to reduce spirit/alcohol drinks production licenses price from UAH250,000 down to UAH25,000, Agro Perspectiva announced May 17.

As to Ministry of Agrarian Policy draft Law «About Bringing Amendments to Some Ukrainian Laws on Regulation of Ethyl Spirit Production, Circulation and Taxation» (published on Ministry official website), Ministry of Agrarian Policy has proposed to decline price of spirit/alcohol drinks production licenses down 5 times (to UAH5.000 per year) for initial wine-making companies with average annual resources processing under 1,000 MT.

Draft Law supplementary note specifies that reimbursement of spirit/alcohol drinks production licenses (efficient until Mar 2005) cost has contributed to State-owned companies functioning stabilization.

As earlier reported, 2005 domestic spirit output had boosted to 29.04 million dl, up 6.248 million dl (+ 27.4%) against 2004. In Ukraine are functioning 84 State-owned spirit plants with total annual capacity 66 million dl. As to Concern Ukrspyrt data, 82 Ukrainian spirit plants (74 — Ukrspyrt property) have spirit production licenses.
