Denmark: Danish breweries proliferate

Bryggeriforeningen, the Danish Trade Organisation for the Brewing Sector, stated in a recent report that breweries in Denmark were 59 in 2005 and only 13 in 2000, according to May 10 news releases.

Niels Hald, head of Bryggeriforeningen, informed that the increase is largely due to the fact that beer has become trendy. On the same occasion, Hald estimated that 30 small breweries will be established in Denmark during 2006.
