India: United Breweries Holdings appointed B S Patil as additional director of the company
United Breweries Holdings appointed B S Patil as an additional director of the company with effect from March 22, 2006, in terms of Article 114 of the articles of association of the company. Further the company has said that Mani Narayanaswami ceases to be director of the company with effect from March 22, 2006.
The UB Group commenced its brewing operations as early as the 19th Century (1857) with five small breweries in South India. The company was taken over by Vijay Mallya in 1947. In 1952 the company shifted its registered office from Madras to Bangalore. In 1988 the name of the Company was changed from United Breweries Ltd. to UB Ltd.
United Breweries (holdings) Limited was among the gainers at the bourses and is currently quoting at Rs 653.75 at the BSE, up 0.38 per cent. 10801 shares of United Breweries (holdings) Limited have been traded at the BSE today.
