Kosovo: Provisional results of bids for Peja Brewery
Kosovo Trust Agency (KTA) has recently announced provisional results for the first round bid of Peja Brewery. KTA picked provisional buyers for “Peja Brewery” L.L.C., the only significant brewery in Kosovo and the clear market leader.
The KTA has only disclosed the level of the successful bids. An offer of EUR11.2 million was accepted for the brewery. The KTA did not comment on the number of bids it received in the tenders nor would it name the successful bidders.
The KTA has insisted on investment of EUR15 million in the brewery in the next five years and job guarantees for 612 employees.
The brewery, located in the western town of Peja, reported sales of EUR11m (US$13.1m) in 2004, Kosovo Trust Agency (KTA) said in a statement. Peja’s production capacity is 325,000 hectolitres.
