USA: Shipyard Brewing, Sunday River and Boston Firefighters team up to benefit Burn Foundation

The Shipyard Brew Haus at Sunday River’s White Cap Lodge announced on February 6 they will be hosting their official grand-opening event in conjunction with a fundraiser for the Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation on Thursday, Feb. 9 starting at 5 p.m.

The grand-opening event starts at 5 p.m. with a special 2 for 1 menu, half price appetizers, and $2.50 Shipyard Ales. At 7 p.m. the fun moves upstairs to Pugley’s Pub and Thumpers Nightclub. The $5 cover charge for the upstairs event benefits The Boston Firefighters Burn Foundation. A large portion of the fundraising will occur via a raffle drawing with a wide range of prizes including Boston hotel stays, ski equipment, a Sunday River getaway for two, Shipyard Brewery products and more.

The Shipyard Brew Haus has donated the entertainment for the evening to be supplied by the Rick Graham Band.

“The event was a great success last year and word is that this year’s is going to top it,” said Firefighter and Director of the Burn Foundation. “It’s one of about seven fund raisers we do each year. The money we raise goes to help burn victims and their families during difficult times.”

The Boston Firefighter’s Burn Foundation is a non-profit organization formed and run by Boston Firefighters. The Foundation is committed to helping burn victims and their families throughout their hospital stay; to include but not limited to providing emotional and financial support. Shipyard Brewery, a Maine company with internationally renowned beers, has assumed all food and beverage operations for three distinct venues within Sunday River’s White Cap Lodge. The Shipyard Brew Haus is for the whole family, Pugsley’s Pub has a more bar-like atmosphere, and Thumpers nightclub is the place to see major touring musical acts. All of the action is easily accessible by Sunday River’s on-mountain trolley, the Bethel area Mountain Explorer bus, or via ski trails.
