Brewing news India: Yuksom Breweries to consolidate its position in the beer market

Yuksom Breweries of Sikkim, owned by Hindi film star Danny Denzongpa, is making fresh investments to consolidate its position in the beer market in the east, India Business Insight Via Thomson Dialog NewsEdg communicated on February 6.

The company has recently commissioned its 100 percent subsidiary in Orissa-Denzong Breweries-with an investment of Rs30 crore. The new brewery has an initial production capacity of 60,000 hectolitres and this will be later increased to 2.6 lakh hectolitres. Denzongpa is looking to invest another Rs26-30 crore in setting up a greenfield brewery in Assam.

Yuksom Breweries has a capacity of 2.6 lakh hectolitres in Sikkim and sells popular beer brands like Heman and Hit Yuksom.
