Brewing news Netherlands: Grolsch is to resume supplies Albert Heijn supermarket chain

Grolsch brewery from Netherlands has agreed to resume the supplies to the leading Dutch supermarket chain Albert Heijn unit after reaching an agreement on price, according to Reuters.

The dispute would have been resolved, but did not reveal terms of the agreement. Grolsch refused to continue supplying the beer at the price the supermarket, owned by Ahold, was demanding. According to Albert Heijn, Grolsch wanted to raise the price of a 24 beer crate by E1.

Around 10% of Grolsh's total sales go through Albert Heijn, and with Dutch consumers increasingly choosing to drink at home rather than in pubs and bars, off-trade sales are becoming more important.
