France: The duty rate for small independent breweries is reduced since January 1 2006

From the 1st of January 2006 the duty rate for small independent breweries (for beer above 2,8 % alc. vol.) is reduced, The Brewers of Europe has recently communicated. The reduced rates are as follows:

— 1,30 €/hl alc. degree for breweries with an annual production of 10 000 hl maxi
— 1,50 € alc. degree for breweries with an annual production above 10 000 hl up to 50 000 hl maxi
— 1,95 € alc. degree for breweries with an annual production above 50 000 hl up to 200 000 hl maxi
