Syabar Brewery (Bobruisk, Mogilev Region, Belarus) has recently announced it will launch beer production this October, Interfax cited company's PR Manager Vadim Sekhovich on September 27. The source specified, the company is planning to make the following kinds of beer: Syabar (light, original, strong) and Bobrov (light and strong). Premium-class Syabar will be sold in all Belarusian regions, while Bobrov sales will be restricted to Mogilev Region. Initially, both kinds of beer will be sold in plastic bottles, later in glass bottles.

The source informed, the brewing equipment was purchased in Germany and Italy.

The company has already started brewing Bobro beer. The first lot will be bottled at the beginning of October. The pilot lot of Syabar will be ready by the end of October.

According to the source, in May-September 2005 the company received $19 million in investments. The designed capacity of the brewery is 6 million decalitres per year.

Syabar Brewery CJSC JV (previously known as Belarusian Brewery CJSC JV) was registered in February 2004. The company was set up by Detroit-Belarus Brewing Company LLC (DBB Company), whose founders are American investment group Detroit Investment Ltd. and the Intrenational Finance Corporation, and Dednovo OJSC (Bobruisk, Mogilev Region).

As formerly reported by Interfax, in June 2005 the IFC agreed to contribute $3 million to Detroit-Belarus Brewing Company's authorised stock and grant a $7 million loan to Belarusian Brewery CJSC. Detroit-Belarus Brewing Company and Belarusian Brewery CJSC participated in the privatisation of Dednovo OJSC.
