Brewing news USA: Idaho Grain about barley market

Barley prices were steady to 20 cents lower in southern Idaho and 15 cents lower in northern Idaho, according to IdahoGrain report of September 22.

USDA’s export sales report showed export shipments last week of 41.4 thousand metric tonnes, to Japan, Tunisia and Mexico. New export sales were a net reduction of 5.0 thousand metric tonnes, resulting from sales increases to Tunisia (18.9 thousand metric tonnes) more than offset by decreases for unknown destinations.

The EU Grains Management Committee rejected all bids to export free market barley last week, according to the report, but approved bids to export 2.5 TMT of French intervention barley stocks this week at a min. selling price of 96.25 euros/metric tonne.
