Ukraine: 95% of projected area harvested

Tre Ukrainian farmers harvested 4.26 million hectares of barley as of August 22. This represents 95% of projected area. 9.62 million tonnes of grain were collected at an average yield of 2.26 tonnes per hectare according to Agrarian Policy Ministry

Odessa Oblast obtained with 888,400 tonnes of barley the biggest crop among Ukrainian regions.

In 2004 as of August 21 the farmers harvested barley from 4.34 million hectares (93 % of projected area). The crop was of 11.84 million tonnes with an average yield of 2.73 tonnes per hectare.
