Russia: Malt imports dropped sharply in January-March 2005

Russian malt imports dropped sharply in January-March, from 101,000 metric tonnes a year ago to 53,000 tonnes now.

Russia imported 555,000 metric tonnes of malt in 2004 compared to 513,000 metric tonnes in 2003 that is 8.2% increase. Only in the forth quarter of 2004 Russia imported 81,000 metric tonnes of malt.

In January 2005 Russia imported 12,500 metric tonnes of malt.
